Le XXXX dispose d’une capacité amphibie de jour comme de nuit jusqu’à un état de mer 3 grâce à son radier (dimensions 23 x 14,3 m) aménagé en partie arrière, équipé d’une plage d’amortissement des vagues.
Les opérations de transfert sont effectuées soit en "porte à porte" (radier à sec), soit avec le radier immergé.
Le système de ballastage est automatisé et permet d’effectuer les opérations d’enradiage ou de déradiage du navire en environ une heure.
