"Il sera question d’analyser la **fécondité du moment**, la fécondité cumulée et ses différentielles selon les caractéristiques de la femme. On y abordera la fécondité achevée des femmes à la fin de leur vie reproductive. Ensuite on enchaînera sur la fécondité cumulée, son niveau et ses éventuelles disparités.

I thought that "fertility rates" were "birth rates". Am I missing something here?

neutral  SJLD: "birth rate" is used in non-pro writing for fertility rate (births/woman) - birth rate=live births/pop both sexes, fertility rate=births to women of childbearing age/demography is a very specialised field - these are not terms that can be guessed at :-)
