manned information desk
Explanation:
Permanence means somebody sitting there between x o'clock and y o'clock. I know because I have been asked to "assurer la permanence" at association fairs. Manning the stall, in other words.

drop-in sessions

Explanation:
'permanence' is a real headache, but this might work here.

Example sentence(s):
  • What are Drop In Sessions? These are times set aside, usually at lunchtime, as a quick and easy way for you to access a student counsellor without having to make an appointment. During holiday times, they are available three times a week...

agree  sueaberwoman: Maybe combine the 2 answers: drop-in information sessions or clinics? (Seems clearer, especially as English speakers would probably not be familiar with the organizations holding them.)

agree  writeaway: or information desk. a couple of hours a day every several weeks, where people can drop in if they want to, isn't a clinic
1 hr

agree  Andrew Mason: Need tp keep the idea of drop-in even if you add information, because that maintains the notion of not needing an appointment which is the essence of 'permanance' in this context.

Until recently, Crystal Peaks was the only program of its type that we were aware of. In 2005 we held our first information clinic, designed to assist others interested in starting a similar ranch or ministry. Since then, quite a few more facilities have opened their doors to children and families as a result of these clinics and we are thrilled!

A Crystal Peaks clinic is not only a time for individuals to learn the nuts and bolts of creating a program similar, it is also a place for encouragement. Participants are able to meet with like-minded folks, support each other and share ideas.

Because we feel our program’s effectiveness is based on the hope that is only found through Christ, the message of Christ is central to each Clinic.

Article 2: Day 1, Global Fund Information Clinics at the Partnership Forum

Before the official opening ceremony on Monday, December 08, the Global Fund Secretariat organized a series of information clinics on issues that most interest the different stakeholders. Seven clinics were presented twice in order to allow participants to attend at least two of these afternoon sessions. The main themes were: Global Fund architecture, country-level partnerships, Global Fund governance, program implementation, technical assistance, capacity development and global-level initiatives.

  -> Thanks, sueaberwoman, I prefer clinic to session, but drop-in could be added, though I don't think it is necessary.

agree  cfraser: information sessions would likely suffice

  -> Thanks cfraser, though I prefer clinic to session, since it is usually 'session with something or somebody' rather than the stand-alone 'clinic'.
