I'm translating the website of the French Freemasons, and "initiatique" as both a noun and an adjective occurs frequently. Naturally I have studied the website of the English Freemasons, but I can't find a suitable way of expressing it. Here is the present context - it's in a glossary of masonic terms:

Base de l’identité d’une obédience et cadre de son **fonctionnement initiatique**.
Il comprend l’ensemble des concepts fondamentaux et pratiques symboliques qui organisent et règlent le travail dans les loges et leur donne sens. Tout en faisant référence à un « tronc commun » de symboles (équerre, compas, etc.) plusieurs rites maçonniques ont été élaborés au cours des siècles, qui présentent les uns par rapport aux autres suffisamment de différences pour ne pas être confondus.
Les loges de la Grande Loge de France pratiquent un seul rite, le Rite Écossais Ancien et Accepté, appelé ainsi en référence à ses origines.

Asker: This is most helpful in that it explains why they want a professional job done on their website! And it may give me some leads. As you suggest, "initiatic" won't do. I ought to have found this website myself, so thanks again.
