French term or phrase: offices ministériels
From an academic article describing the controversy surrounding women's entry into the professional world, where they started doing jobs which had always been reserved for men:

My audience is American.

An extract of my translation so far is '...other careers in legal work (as magistrates) and ???? (as solicitors - not sure this is OK for American audience though - public notaries, bailiffs and clerks of the court).
