La solution passera par un regard nouveau sur les liens et les valeurs qui les sous-tendent. La médiation citoyenne trouve davantage son fondement dans les sciences sociales, souci de réparation, de reconnaissance, d’équité étant dominants. L’interaction entre acteurs est davantage gouvernée par la logique du contrôle social et du système de valeurs. L’aspect quantitatif ne s’impose que lorsque les autres aspects relationnels du vivre ensemble ont reçu une réponse satisfaisante par l’ensemble des médieurs. *** Il ne faut pas en tirer hâtivement la conclusion, parce qu’elle prendrait en charge le primat du qualitatif d’une supériorité de la médiation citoyenne. *** Mais nous vivons dans une société où la règle sociale est liée à la vision du monde sur une affirmation de principes et de valeurs sociales qui cimente le « vivre ensemble sociétaire »- que l’on pense par exemple aux droits de l’homme en Occident.

I translate a lot of academic articles in the social sciences and find that you often cannot translate them directly; you've got to figure out what they mean (or are trying to say, albeit not always clearly) and then translate the concept.

Here, the author seems to be arguing that drawing conclusions too hastily could result in incorrectly deeming "médiation citoyenne" better than other forms of mediation.
