French term or phrase: came physiologique
I really hope someone is out there this weekend, because I am truly stumped on this one!

It's from a description of new-generation weight room equipment:
Cette nouvelle génération d’appareils à usage intensif vous permet de changer la charge depuis votre position de travail ainsi que de faire évoluer la charge de 2,5 en 2,5 kg. Tous ces appareils sont en structure acier 3 mm, peinture époxy métallisée grise ou blanche. Ils sont équipés de cannes physiologiques et de carter de sécurité.

These machines are made in France, so perhaps it is a new feature with no English equivalent?
The only other ref I could find to this term is here, but it sheds no light on what it actually is:

Any help whatsoever is greatly appreciated!

Packed into a concise 4' x 5' space, anchored by a 210 Lb. weight stack and shrouded for maximum safety and performance, the EXM2000S screams for exhilarating workouts. From the moment you slide on to the fully adjustable seat and back pad, you recognise the quality you will enjoy for a Lifetime. Guaranteed! Reach behind you and insert the selector pin at your desired resistance level, adjust the height of the Bench Press Arms, then grip it and rip it! If you've ever used free weights, you'll love our new Perfect Pec technology. Designed with free weights in mind, flys have never been more precise. Reach up for the Ab Strap, pull it over your shoulders and crunch your way to impeccable abs. Wrap your legs around the oversized foam rollers of the Leg Extension / Leg Curl and blast those quads. Spin around, reach up and take hold of the Lat Bar. Adjust your resistance and do a set of Lat-blasting pull downs. When you're done - you can take a short break. There are still dozens of exercises to be performed on the EXM2000S including seated rows, triceps press downs, arm curls, leg curls, bent over rows, inner / outer thighs, and many more.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Cervin! Thanks for your help. A lat bar is used for exercising (you reach up and pull it down to work your back and shoulder muscles), whereas I get the impression these "cannes" are actually part of the working of the machine...
