French to English translations [PRO] Sports / Fitness / Recreation / Olympics | | French term or phrase: bateau de point/de couple | It's about an introduction of rowing:
• L'athlète est assis au-dessus du niveau de l'eau sur un siège roulant appelé « coulisse » et tourne le dos au sens d'avancement du bateau.
• Les épreuves se disputent en ligne sur une distance de 2000m sur un plan d’eau douce sans courant. Les bateaux sont alignés dans 6 couloirs.
• Il existe 2 types de bateaux : **de pointe** (chaque rameur a une rame de 3,85m) et **de couple** (chaque rameur a deux rames de 2,98m)
• Aux JO, les avirons n’ont pas de barreur chargé de la direction du bateau sauf pour le huit de pointe (ils sont alors 8 rameurs et 1 barreur)
