This financial company sponsoring golf tournaments in Europe refers constantly to their "circuit":

- le seul circuit professionnel en France
- signe que notre circuit a atteint sa maturité et une vraie légitimité.
- un succès croissant en 2009 qui installe le circuit français dans l’élite européenne
- XXX a donc décidé en 2009 de reconduire ce circuit pour trois ans,
- l'organisation fédère depuis trois ans sur un même circuit la majorité des tournois professionnels

I've mostly translated it as "circuit", but wonder if I should use "competition" in some instances, as it is beginning to sound odd. It might be my fatigue though!

The "circuit européen" jsmcgregor talks about is called the "European tour" in English!!! I suppose you are talking about the Allianz Golf Tour and its name speaks for itself. ;)

In English, we use the word "tour" to refer to what the French call a "circuit".
Most famous example is the PGA Tour.

The "circuit européen" jsmcgregor talks about is called the "European tour" in English!!! I suppose you are talking about the Allianz Golf Tour and its name speaks for itself. ;)
