using the Internet for paperless documents; robot mailing machine/robot mailer Explanation: Termium gives *dematerialization* as the translation of *dématérialisation*, in the context of the stock exchange and investment. Here is the French explanation of this term: French:Stock Exchange Investment dématérialisation s CORRECT,FEM,FRANCE DEF - Opération consistant à remplacer la représentation matérielle d'une valeur mobilière par une seule inscription au compte tenu au nom de son propriétaire, par la société émettrice ou un organisme habilité. s In the context of documents, Termium uses *paperless*, which should fit the Internet document context very nicely. Document transmittal through the Internet; Robot mailer. Explanation: They are saying "dematerialization of documents" but that is using big technical words to mean the transmittal of documents. When a document is transmitted it is digitized into bits of information, and during this small fraction of time the document does not exist. When it is received it is reassembled by the receiving computer so that it shows up again as the original document. Unless they are emphasizing this technicality, I think that the correct statement should be just "document transmittal" Regards. Luis M. Luis |
