French term or phrase: fonction horomètre sur fonction
Context: technical data sheet, mfg of pallet trucks
Here's some fun phrasing:
"fonction horomètre sur fonction : A la mise sous tension, l'afficheur devra indiquer le nombre d'heures de fonctionnement du chariot..."
Does it mean the way the hourmeter works when the display is turned on?
If so, what's a better way to say this?
English translation:hourmeter function
Could it be that when you power up the device, the hourmeter should display how many hours the device runs?
"Hourmeter function: when powered up the display should indicate how many hours the truck is in operation".
Attention - "afficheur" is the display window.
I presume the "chariot" is your pallet truck.
In an industrial environemnt clocking of machine operation is vital as maintenance is scheduled on the basis of how many hours a device runs.
