French term or phrase: rétroprojetable
In a training manual about overhead projetors and transparencies, I came across the terms 'transparents' and 'rétroprojetables'. My question is to how to distinguish between the two in English? Is 'rétroprojetable' the generic term?
Thanks for your help. Helen

overhead projection /transparencies and overhead projections

Explanation:
I guess you understand what overhead projections are. Transparencies are the transparent sheets (that you place on the projector) to enable the projection itself...
Transparencies can be used not only on overhead projectors...

retroprojectables or images for back-projection

Explanation:
There used to be opaque projectors for back-projections, but this could deal with transparencies as well.
From Robert: "Retroprojecteur - projecteur destiné à reproduire l'image sur un écran placé derrière l'opérateur." Date given, 1970.
