level indicator / detector / regulator Explanation: Whilst under certain circumstances 'switch may well be right for 'capteur', it is a little dangerous to make that assumption unless the wider context makes it clear; a 'capteur' need not NECESSARILY be an on/off type action, as implied by a 'switch'; it could equally easily be an analogue type device (think of a car fuel gauge, for example), where the 'capteur' (in this automotive context: sender unit) sends a continuously-varying signal that represents the level of fuel in the tank. So 'detector' might be your safer bet, unless you are 100% sure it DOES mean an on / off low / high device. |
