anti-bouncing valve

Explanation:
rebond = bouncing
rebondir = to bounce.

"Antirebond" is an oscillation supression feature. The usual English equivalent is anti-bouncing.

Valve can be translated in several ways in french because it covers several functions:

General definitions :
an externally operated valve providing on/off functions (solenoid valve, gate valve, etc is generally called "vanne" in french.

a self operated valve like an overpressure valve or regulation valves are generally called "soupape" in french.

Exceptions :
In Automobile domain, a tyre valve is called "valve" in French. (This is one of the rare cases where you can translate valve by valve in French).

In Automobile domain, the admission and exhaust valves are called "soupapes" although they are not self operated and do not provide regulation functions.

Normally you know now the difference that could exist between a "soupape antirebond" (should be written without hyphen) and a "valve antirebond" : valve should not be used in that case : it is what is called an "angliscisme". However it is often used instead of soupape and I think that they are here purely synonyms.
