punch and press (guichet) Explanation: Since it is machinery it must be something like punch (decoupe) and press; guichet is puzzling without more context: could it be the station on a production line where metal punching & pressing is done? Good luck! |

Wicket press and shear. Explanation: This is a very specific device used in plastic bag-making machines (usually small bags in HDPE made by the million). If you've noticed how bags at (for example) a greengrocer's are welded together at the top to form a block from which you tear bags off; well, it's the wicket press, shear, and, sometimes, punch (to punch holes like those in a ring binder) that does the job. I just happen to have been involved with bag-makers. |
