tube skin thermocouple, weld pad t/couple, boiler t/couple, cladded thermocouple tube Explanation: Thermocouple de gaine = thermocouple cladding (if you consider that « tube skin » can be likened to a « gaine »). Never the less, the apparently literal « tube skin thermocouple » is used. This is not one of my areas, so perhaps I should refrain but it would appear that the terms « weld-pad thermocouple » and « boiler thermocouple » are also used. Whether this fits in your context is another kettke of fish ! http://www.gayesco.com/Xtracto.htm (Temperature measurement specialists) Accurate reliable temperature measurement for process furnaces is a priority throughout the refining and petrochemical industry. Traditionally tube skin temperature measurement systems have required the welding and or peening in of the thermocouple on the tube. This activity had to be repeated if the thermocouple failed. GAYESCO'S new patented 'XTRACTO-PAD©" thermocouple system allows for replacement of the thermocouple without rewelding. This results in significant cost savings to the operator and provides a practical solution to tube skin temperature measurement. (same site – section on thermocouples) Tube Skin Thermocouples : GAYESCO has taken Tube Skin Thermocouple (TSTC) design to the next level. This has been accomplished by listening to our customers and evaluating our own field experience in the installation of these critical temperature sensors. http://www.ari.co.uk/fantip.htm ARi Fan Tip style Tube Skin Thermocouple For many years the measurement of furnace heater tube skin temperatures has proved difficult, often recording errors of ±30º C. or more. To overcome this problem the Okazaki-ARi group developed the "Fan Tip" thermocouple assembly. In tests, the "Fan Tip" thermocouple achieved an accuracy of ±4.5º C. of the true tube skin temperature at approximately 500º C. and has now been proved in the rigorous conditions of furnaces around the world. "Fan Tip" thermocouples with a Hastelloy X sheath material have an exceptionally long life and allows a smaller sheath diameter to be used (5/16" standard), thus enabling the thermocouple to be bent into coils. The use of expansion coils allow for heater tube movement. http://www.fpllc.com/theras.html FP makes a full range of thermocouple types using a wide variety of constructions, including base metal, magnesium oxide (MgO / metal-sheathed), noble metal (platinum-rhodium), tungsten-rhenium and other specialty constructions. We have specific expertise with platinum thermocouple assemblies requiring multiple protection tubes and/or having multiple thermocouples. Special item examples include plastics thermocouples, molten metal thermocouples ('Marshall Tips'), weld pad (also called tube-skin or boiler) thermocouples, multi-point assemblies, 'jumpers'/extensions and many other customer-designed constructions! www.gayesco.com, www.ari.co.uk Reference: http://www.fpllc.com |
