"Profile" in English means vertical transverse section Explanation: (in architecture/engineering design). It also applies to some accesorial components used to install shelves, frames, and the like. Hope this helps settle your doubts. |

profile Explanation: I'd go for "profile", because that's what's used in the construction an ddecoration business to describe extruded aluminium or plastic sections used precisely to cover up joins, angles, edges and other supposedly insightly constructional details! Some people use the word "section" in the same way. |
