In the section on "attelages," one instruction says, "Vérification de la position des SEGMENTS." Are these piston rings?

FREINAGE DES ATTELAGES. Are we braking couplings here?

This appears in a section on cylinder heads. I propose translating it "tappet stem passage gaskets." Qu'est-ce vous en diriez?
