My try :

The bi-mode structure forming the photonic crystal thus makes it possible to transfer the signal carried by an incident optical carrier frequency F1 (frequency of one of the two proper modes generated by the device 1) towards another carrier frequency F2 (frequency of the other proper mode).

My question is, is “by an incident optical carrier frequency” the right word order
