De façon générale, il faut compter environ 3$ le mètre pour une installation en poteaux lorsque ceux-ci sont accessibles et en bon état. Ces coûts peuvent augmenter à 5$ le mètre lorsque le réseau de poteaux est situé en zone difficilement accessible (arrière lot ou zone non accessible par véhicules réguliers). Lorsque des poteaux doivent être changés, il faut prévoir environ 600$ par poteau.

À ces coûts, il faut également ajouter le coût des fusions (environ 20$ par fusion, donc 240$ par point de fusion pour un câble de 12 fibres) ainsi que les **boîtiers de fusions** (environ 600$) qui sont localisés, en zone rurale, à environ quatre kilomètres de distance et, en zone urbaine, dans l’ordre du kilomètre.
