French term or phrase: touche d'impression
This is from a press kit describing forthcoming lines of clothing, with photos. "Touches d'impression" is a heading followed by various colours with their references, presumably either for manufacturers or for printers. They are not all shades of one colour but a range of different colours. There is a similar list showing "touches complémentaires".

Suggestions and explanations welcome!

print colours

Explanation:
* Maybe as a simple heading "Colours" is sufficient depending on whether the printing aspect is covered and implicit in what precedes.

Colour Codes

Explanation:
I have worked for two EOUs in India and both used to deal in textiles. They used the term Colour codes in their fabric information sheets and swatch cards.

I hope that this will be of some help.

[In some other context, I'd have said print button or something similar ;-)]

And of course, colour codes have to be defined by showing what they mean. Exporter sends his/ her swatches with colour codes etc. And in the exporter's sheet shows colour in front of the colour code but the buyer simply writes the code in his Purchase Order.

I might have said Printing Key or Print button in some other context.

Colorways

Explanation:
If these are groups of assorted colors, not variations of the same color, the commonly used term is colorway.

colour palette

Explanation:
I believe this term is often used in the textile/fashion industry to show both different colours and shades. I have included one general web reference.

touches d'impressions
touches of patterns [or prints]

Explanation:
Alternate translations:
touches complémentaires => complementary touches

touche d'impression => print key; color key (or color proof)

Explanation: It's my belief that the French say exactly what they mean. And, by not using the standard French phrases for colorway, color key, color proof, range of colors, color palette, color code, etc., it leads me to believe that they are referring to something else. Since these is a press release about a forthcoming line of clothing, and not instructions to the printer, I think that they may be referring to the look or appearance of the clothing.

There is the possibility that they are using "touche" as key and are saying print key (the key to press on a machine when you want it to print) when they mean color key (the color proof that is used to help printers print color correctly).

IMO, you should contact the client to clarify what is meant.

STAY ON SOLID GROUND
Solid separates mix and match more easily and are less recognizable than prints; thus, they usually can be worn much more often than memorable statement pieces. Add touches of prints (plaids, florals, animal, and stripes) to jazz things up!

Color Key
Definition: A Color Key is an overlay proof created from the film separations that places each ink color on a separate clear acetate sheet then assembles them together over white paper. Color Key is actually a brandname for a specific process that is often used generically to apply to any overlay proofing system. See Overlay Proofs for a complete description.
Also Known As: overlay proof | separations proof
Examples: Use Color Key overlay proofs to check registration, trapping, and color breaks, identify density problems and pixelation of bitmaps. Can be used for process and spot color jobs. Overlay proofs are less reliable than laminate proofs.

color keys - Off-press overlay color proofs using 3M color key materials.
color proofs - See off-press proofs, progressive proofs.
off-press proofs - Proofs made by photomechanical or digital means in less time and at lower cost than press proofs.
progressive proofs (progs) - Proofs made from the separate plates in color process work, showing the sequence of printing and the result after each additional color has been applied.

color key
[definition](2) (Color-Key) In prepress, a sample of printed output that is used as a proof for the customer and a guide for the printer. Marketed by Kodak Polychrome Graphics (originally developed by 3M and later Imation), it is made by exposing the CMYK negatives onto four acetate films which are developed. When overlaid on top of each other, they simulate the printed results. See Matchprint.

press proof
