French term or phrase:chouchou
On se croirait en vacances à Saint Tropez ou à Miami et pourtant ici on travaille quinze heures sur vingt-quatre pour présenter à la presse, intriguée par le phénomène, ou aux quelques deux cents revendeurs du monde entier, les chouchous de la prochaine collection
Any ideas on how I could translate "chouchous" here?
The dictionary gives 'darlings', which is not at all appropriate. I've seen this in a lot of magazines and on the 3 Suisse site, but I've never actually thought of how best to translate it.
There were a lot of excellent suggestions here and after a bit of thought, I chose this. It's not the most stylish answer and I must admit I was tempted by 'coveted pieces', but it gets the meaning across and fits with other examples I've seen of this. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
Explanation: In this context I thinl "the pick of" might give the idea best, otherwise favourites, gems, etc.
