: Il ne portait ni veston, ni faux col. Sa chemise etait d'un blanc eclatant, legerement empesee, maintenue par un bouton de col a bascule.

Qu'est-ce que ce 'bouton de col a bascule'?
Je n'en trouve ni explication ni image en intenet.

This seems to be the UK equivalent of the French term.

However, as mentioned in the Discussion section, I don't understand what is being held by this stud if the person is not wearing a detachable collar ("ni faux col").
