French term or phrase: tête de ligne
Ces compagnies ont choisi [nom de ville] pour leurs embarquements en tête de ligne.

The "compagnies" are shipping companies running cruise ships. Does this mean that the town is their home port?

Sentence
These companies have chosen [town] as their port of embarkation (where people board the ship) .

there is absolutely no need to translate the "embarquements" as well as it is quite tautological but anyway, if you really want to use the bracketed part above.

People BOARD a ship and EMBARK ON a voyage. You do NOT embark on a ship, wrong verb

port of departure

Explanation:
As distinguished from ports of call. Bog-standard term in the cruise industry.

In this sentence, would avoid "embarkations at the embarkation port" :-)

cruise ship terminals

Explanation:
Terminal is the official name, but other answers (above) such as embarkation port or port of departure have a more natural ring to them.
