French term or phrase: bon de transport
Can anyone tell me the difference between a 'bon de transport' and a 'bon de livraison'?

I know that the latter is a 'delivery note' but what exactly is a 'bon de transport' then? Is it some sort of dispatch note? I have a document that mentions both in the same paragraph, but I don't know what the difference is. I have marked this question 'easy' - but it may not be, for all I know, if there is a subtle difference.

Thanks.

Explanation:
Sorry I'm responding a little late. If we say "delivery note", why not "shipping note"? See Standard Shipping Notes in link below and then further link to SITPRO site: "... it provides the receiving authority with complete, accurate and timely data as well as providing all those with an interest in the consignment with adequate information at each movement stage, until final loading on board the vessel or aircraft. The greatest benefit of using the SSN is that receiving authorities receive clear and precise information on how the goods should be handled."

This one was tough to grade, as there are I guess various terms to describe these various bits of paper. But your explanation was good and your answer was helpful. Thanks!

waybill or ship order

Explanation:
I believe that the bon de transport is given by the shipper to the company providing transport (waybill, ship order) and the bon de livraison is the delivery receipt.
