French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Transport / Transportation / Shipping / rail | | French term or phrase: culbutage | From a description of a coal-fired power plant:
"La Centrale comporte des installations de livraison du charbon par voie ferrée composée en particulier d’un réseau ferré interne, d’un bâtiment de **culbutage** des wagons, de trémies de réception et de transporteurs à bande permettant d’amener le charbon vers le bâtiment des mélanges et vers l’aire de stockage."
This is offered as "tumbling" in the glossary, which doesn't fit in this case. My various searches on the net suggest dumping or tipping, but I wonder if anyone can confirm this?
