French to English translations [PRO] Transport / Transportation / Shipping
French term or phrase:réservation en partance
From a Freight Forwarding contract.
The Freight Forwarder agrees to:
"Garantir l'embarquement complet des lots sur le premier navire prévu à la réservation en partance ou le suivant à partir de la prise en charge des marchandises."
I know I'm repeating myself, but Alain's interpretation is the only correct one IMO. To avoid confusion, the author of the text has decided not to just say "on the first ship to leave" but to stipulate "on the first ship to leave on which it is possible to reserve freight space, or on the following one". The Fr is rather clumsy but the meaning's clear to me.
