Can't quite figure this out...
is this a chamber or kettle heated by "soaking" (maceration) or direct transfer...makes no sense to me! Or maybe a steam kettle/heating chamber FOR heating through maceration and direct transfer (of what I don't know...)

Explanation:
If the wine is a Madeira, grapes are fermented, then transferred to a heated storeroom ('estufa'), where they are slowly warmed to 45C then left to cool.
Trempage would be 'standing in juice' and 'transfert direct' would be 'direct (heat) transfer'.
