Hallo,

wird saillant hier korrekterweise mit "Saillant" übersetzt? Oder ist etwas anderes gemeint, z.B. dass das Dorf irgendwie "vorspringt"?
Wie formuliert man das, "former un saillant"?

"Le 1er juillet 1916, c’est contre le ****saillant formé par le village de Gommecourt****, dans le Pas-de-Calais que les 46ème et 56ème divisions britanniques lancent une attaque de diversion synchronique de l’assaut principal sur la Somme."

Der "Frontkeil", den man vielleicht auch erwarten könnte, wird offenbar im militärischen Zusammenhang nicht verwandt.
