es geht darum, dass die Teams allein in der Abgeschiedenheit Neukaledoniens verschiedene Checkpunkte (z.B. unter Wasser > Tauchen; auf einem entlegenen Berggipfel > Orientierungslauf usw.) erreichen müssen, dabei kommt es natürlich auf sehr gute Orientierungs-/Navigationsfähigkeiten an (vgl. Orientierungslauf). Seit 2009 darf meines Wissens dazu auch GPS genutzt werden (vorher wohl nur Karten).
