"Un peu plus loin, un bel enfant, rose et joufflu, arrive gravement à pas comptés avec une immense perruque à trente six **marteaux**: on dirait le chancelier Maupeou entrant au parlement."
Gemeint sind sicherlich diese weißen langen Perücken, doch was ist hier unter "marteaux " zu verstehen?

Une perruque à marteaux* posée sur un support est peinte sur une plaque rectangulaire bordée de rouge dont les angles supérieurs sont abattus. La corporation des perruquiers date du règne de Louis XIV.
