Το διδακτικό εγχειρίδιο «Υδραυλικές εγκαταστάσεις» (Λ.Ε. Λαζαρίδη, Ιδρυμα Ευγενίδη, Αθ. 1989) —ένα από τα αγαπημένα μου αναγνώσματα σε στιγμές ανίας— ασχολείται εκτενώς με τα σιφώνια (σελ. 84–96), αλλά δεν αναφέρει τίποτα σχετικά. Αναφέρεται όμως στο «βύθισμα» των σιφωνιών και το culot (που μπορεί να είναι court, plat, reglable en hauteur) φαίνεται να έχει σχέση με αυτό.
