E' il deprezzamento che un bene acquistato subisce qualunque sia la causa . L'indennità che l'assicuratore riconosce all'assicurato non può oltrepassare l'ammontare del valore dell'oggetto assicurato al momento del sinistro . L'assicuratore deve indennizzare il danno subito ma solo quello L'assicurato non può pretendere , in seguito a un sinistro , una somma superiore al valore del bene . L'abbattimento per vetustà viene calcolato in percentuale al valore del bene .
– se si tratta di un bene mobile , valore d'acquisto del bene al momento del sinistro

– se si tratta di immobile : valore di ricostruzione
