La nouvelle bobine à décaper est montée sur un dérouleur, elle passe ensuite sur une planeuse
(constituée d’une succession de rouleaux
alternés et décalés). Derrière la planeuse se
trouve un ***bloc en S***. Celui-ci fixe la vitesse
de défilement de la bande et il est qualifié
de “pilote” parce qu’il impose sa vitesse aux
autres blocs motorisés (qui agissent en traction
ou en frein, selon le besoin).
