French term or phrase: tu les gardes

nelle mani, la protagonista immagina di avere i volti di due persone a lei care.

Des crampes hachent ses mains, elle a mal, elle les gardes. "Encore un petit peu de temps, tu les gardes".

la frase tra virgolette è una frase che lei rivolge a se stesse. "Tu les gardes" però non è all'imperativo e mi crea qualche problema di traduzione

Explanation:
L'imperativo non c'è, eppure mi sembra come un'esortazione che rivolge comunque a se stessa; ho optato per il cambio di persona (dalla seconda alla prima) e aggiungendo "devo", che rafforza appunto tale esortazione.

Explanation:
Non vedo perché non letterale, si mantiene la stessa struttura, lo stesso stile, lo stesso ritmo e lo stesso effetto, a mio avviso.

Lascerei il presente e la seconda persona, si usa anche in italiano quando si parla a se stessi in certe situazioni.
Forse eliminerei la virgola.

dimenticavo:
per "garder" userei il verbo "tenere" perché qui si parla semplicemente di tenere le foto in mano, ma è un'opinione personale.
