"Sont avocats à la Cour les avocats exerçants dans un barreau avec une Cour d'Appel (comme Paris, Douai, Aix-en Provence, ou Bordeaux par exemple), sont avocats au Barreau ceux exerçants dans un barreau sans Cour d'Appel (comme Lille, Nanterre, Marseille ou Bourg en Bresse par exemple). En effet d'un point de vue légal, il y a un barreau par ressort de TGI (tribunal de grande instance). Les Cours d'Appel sont moins nombreuses que les TGI et il n'y en a donc pas une pour chaque TGI."
