Le poste d'un rédacteur éditorial/d'une rédactrice éditoriale n'est pas un poste de cadre, mais c'est toutefpois un poste autonome qui assure à son détenteur une certaine liberté de gérer ses rapprts avec les auteurs. Voilà la définition pusisée dans une offre d'emploi trouvée sur l'internet :
Responsable d'édition.
• Définition : Appelé également responsable éditorial ou éditeur, il fait le lien entre l’auteur et la maison d’édition.
• Compétences : Maîtriser toute la chaîne du processus éditorial notamment les techniques des métiers de l’édition (infographie, iconographie, typographie, photogravure, législation, usages, etc.). D'excellentes capacités en communication, posséder une bonne expression écrite et même orale.
• Activités : Il sélectionne puis suit le livre de sa conception à sa mise sur le marché, c’est l’interlocuteur privilégié de l’écrivain, il le conseille dans ses choix et l’oriente pour que son travail soit en adéquation avec le style voulu par la maison d’édition. Il travaille également à toute la définition technique du livre (format, pages, photos, typographie, etc.). Les opérations de relecture et d’annotation, de corrections jusqu’à la publication du document sont parfois aussi de son ressort.
• Qualités : Ténacité, organisation, rigueur et sens de l’écoute.
• Formation : BTS Edition , DUT information et communication, Master de lettres modernes option « édition » ou de « lettres appliquées aux techniques éditoriales et à la rédaction professionnelle ».
• Salaire : 1 700 euros brut pour un débutant.
• Environnement : En maison d’édition.
Vu le salaire proposé et lex egigences en matière de formation et d'expérience ce n'est pas certainement un poste de cadre.
