São usados em construções, para facilitar o escoamento da água de chuva. A descrição acima tem a ver com o sistema de sifão.

Asker: É, no contexto que estou buscando, não é sarjeta nem boca de esgosto (eu tinha considerado essa última), pois fica no telhado, não no chão.
