Ma intereseaza sensul figurat.
L'abcès de fixation est un abcès provoqué artificiellement pour localiser une infection générale. La technique est aujourd'hui abandonnée. Dans un sens figuré, l'abcès de fixation permet de circonscrire un phénomène néfaste ou dangereux. Par exemple, quand les infirmiers commencent à remettre en cause le fonctionnement institutionnel, il est stratégiquement habile de provoquer un abcès de fixation afin d'éviter que l'infection que cela représente ne se généralise. Il existe différentes techniques. On peut par exemple attaquer personnellement celui qui semble être le leader. Il est ainsi obligé de se justifier et n'a plus l'opportunité de développer ses arguments. Lorsqu'une situation, un problème caché empoisonne la vie institutionnelle, l'infirmier qui veut vider, crever l'abcès doit savoir qu'on lui opposera un abcès de fixation. Mais l'institution doit également savoir qu'un pet retenu provoque un abcès au trou du cul. Economiquement, cela n'est pas simple. L'abcès de fixation n'est une solution à court terme. A moyen et à long terme, il faut traiter les causes de l'inflammation.
