Creo que haría falta más contexto para entender la frase, te doy sencillamente las traducciones de "plaidant" en el Merlin por si te sirve de algo :

- informante, litigante
- avocat plaidant, qui se présente à la barre (par opposition à l'avocat consultant) : abogado informante (contrapuesto al abogado asesor)
- partie plaidante : parte litigante
