En España, es el nombre que se emplea para los que ayudan al Notario a preparar las escrituras, por decirlo de una forma simple. El "empleado del notario" se refiere más al personal de administración, no a quienes redactan y preparan las escrituras.
No sé cuál de los dos se adapta a tu contexto.
