Explanation:
Están situadas en el altar cuadrado llamado “Ara de los Juramentos”, instalado al pie de los escalones que conducen al Oriente y que está cubierto por un tejido azul, bordado de rojo.

En francés debiera ser "au" bas des marches.

No sé si es de esto de lo que se habla en tu documento, pero esta página está muy interesante.
