De acuerdo al contexto en que se encuentra creo que la traducción sería ésa. Quedaría así:" El brazo de sincronización que une, ( o religa o liga) las dos mechas forman una gran masa (o machote, o gran conjunto, o mazo grande)para los estribos mecánicos".
