A mozda ti pomogne i ovo:
Postupak proizvodnje ekspandiranoga polistirena (EPS) provodi se u tri stupnja. U prvom se stupnju kratkotrajnim grijanjem vodenom parom, predekspandiraju ekspandirajuće granule polistirena. Stijenke polistirena omekšaju, a lako hlapljivi ugljikovodik u ekspandirajućim granulama prelazi u plinovito stanje. Granule ekspandiraju povećavajući svoj volumen za 20 do 40 puta, a gustoća se smanji s oko 600 kg/m3 na 15 kg/m3 – 30 kg/m3 (40 kg/m3).

Predekspandirane se granule prenose u paropropusne silose gdje dozrijevaju. Ova difuzijska stabilizacija traje 6 - 24 sata.

U trećem se stupnju granule doziraju u zatvorene metalne kalupe u kojima uz djelovanje suho zasićene vodene pare dolazi do konačne ekspanzije. Granule ponovno omekšaju, a kako daljnje povećanje volumena u zatvorenim kalupima nije moguće, međusobno se slijepe, tvoreći kompaktni materijal zatvorenih ćelija. Blokovi se vade iz kalupa i nakon stabilizacije dimenzija, postupkom vruće žice, režu u ploče.
