Sie dienen dazu, dem Vordringen beim Einbruchversuch mit einem Hebelwerkzeug entgegenzuwirken. "Falzluft" ("sponning") bezeichnet den Abstand (die "Luft") zwischen Türflügel und Türrahmen bei geschlossenem Flügel.
