German term or phrase: per &c.
I think this is what it says (handwritten) at the bottom of several pages of an 1852 German document concerning an estate. In each case it is followed by a balance carried forward at the top of the next page. I get a number of hits with Google (also **per etc.**), but nothing informative. Is anyone familiar with the expression in this context? I'm guessing it has to do with the balance carried forward, but I'd like confirmation.

Das kommt aus dem Lateinischen und bedeutet so viel wie "und der Rest". Man findet es lediglich noch in relativ alten Dokumenten. Übersetzen würde ich es mit "Saldo".

agree  MMUlr: dazu noch diese Erläuterungen: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/& - Es handelt sich offensichtlich um einen Übertrag - amount carried forward.
