dunned invoice
Explanation:
...as an alternative to the relative clause. There are hardly any examples of this term on Google, but the few that do appear use it in this exact context.

Here are a couple of examples:

"Zoom to a dunned invoice. You will notice that the collection status is set to 'Dunning' and the dunning level is set to 'First Reminder'."
See http://www.adempiere.com/index.php/Dunning_Setup

"However, your customer has already paid the dunned invoice. [...] The customer establishes that the dunning notice is redundant because the dunned invoice has already been cleared, that is, the mail was late - not the payment."
See page 7 here: http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/print40b/EN/pdf/fibp/subs...

"Dunning is the process of methodically communicating with customers to ensure the collection of accounts receivable. Communications progress from gentle reminders to almost threatening letters as accounts become more past due. Laws in each country regulate the form that dunning can take. It is generally unlawful to harass or threaten consumers. It is acceptable to issue firm reminders and to take all allowable collection options.

The word stems from the 17th century verb dun, meaning to demand payment of a debt."

I would say "dunning notice" is a bit too strong at this stage of the game (i.e. still on rather friendly terms)

agree  Derek Gill Franßen: I think "dunning notice" would also work. Black's Law dictionary, 8th ed., defines "(to) dun" as "[t]o demand payment from (a deliquent debtor)."//A dunning process has nothing to do with politeness; it starts with the very first reminder (polite or not).

-> I'd save this for the next round (when they take off the gloves and start threatening legal action) // Derek, none of the sources that you cite are politely worded letters to the client, which is our assignment here. Also, ich würde sagen: Thema verfehlt.

agree  philgoddard: Only a 1? :)

agree  British Diana: If this is the right word, use it! The customer will jolly well have to get his EN-EN dict. out. In my New Oxford it is there, so forget Google!(however usu. used passively - to be dunned for money)//EN is so rich in words, why not educate "us and them"?!

-> Thanks, Diana! I totally agree with you, especially with regard to your comment on its normal use. That is why I went out of my way to find a few instances of it being used as an adjective. :)
