Is it possible that this simply means "personal identity"? The members have personal identities?

Der Aufsichtsrat hat aus dem Kreis seiner Mitglieder drei Ausschüsse gebildet, den Personalausschuss, den Ausschuss nach § 27 (3) MitbestG und den Prüfungsausschuss. Es gibt noch den Ausdruck *in Personalunion* i.e. interlocking directorates, vielleicht kann man das irgendwie benutzen.
