German term or phrase: bilanzielle Abbildung
Hello,

I know that this term has been asked before, but in another context. The above term is contained in a glossary without further information.

Is "recognition on the balance sheet" or "recognition on the income statement" the correct translation?

Thanks a lot for any help.

accounting presentation/recognition
Explanation:
Again, based on your other questions, the more generic term is likely correct. I seriously doubt this has anything at all to do with a specific balance sheet.

Asker: Thank you, Ted. Yes, you are right, it has nothing to do with a specific balance sheet.

agree  RobinB: or "accounting treatment". I think that Iris can give all of these terms as her translation (just like a real glossary!)

disagree  Oliver Toogood: with both suggestions, ditto the two given by the asker herself. As concepts, they mean nothing in real terms.

-> Could you explain what you mean by "as concepts, they mean nothing in real terms"? Accounting recognition/treatment/presentation are very real terms used everyday in accounting texts.

To the asker: It's either "I think your answer is incorrect"or "I don't think your answer is correct" - not Asker: Thank you, Oliver, but I think that your answer is not correct.

disagree  RobinB: The term normally means "accounting for xxx" (e.g. here: http://www.ifrs-fachportal.de/Content/default.aspx?_p=59&_t=... or here: http://www.kpmg.de/Themen/7110.htm) but the xx is missing in this case, so Iris is looking for more guidance.

Balance sheet entry

Explanation:
This is simply the entry as it is recorded in the the balance sheet. Nothing more complicated than that.

neutral  RobinB: "bilanziell" is often used in German accounting to refer to all financial statements, not just the balance sheet (the same applies to "Bilanz" itself).
