German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Accounting / annual report
German term or phrase: ausgabewirksame Investitionen
Can anyone help me with this IFRS term please? It is a heading in the cash flow statement in an annual report (under Mittelveraenderung aus Investititionstaetigkeit).
Thank you!

English translation:cash expenditure
Explanation:
... I would say because "ausgabenwirksam" (note the N) is a synonym of "zahlungswirksam". "Nicht ausgaben-/zahlungswirksam" would be "non-cash".

In my opinion, "Investitionen" should not be translated as "investments" because these might be confused with "Beteiligungen" (as in investments in associates = Beteiligungen an verbundenen Unternehmen).

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks very much for your answer and explanation, Steffan (yes, with n). Do you know, by any chance if this is the official IFRS term (under Cash Flow Statements)? Or is this a generally accepted translation in Germany? Sorry to be so picky. And could you possibly explain why 'Investitionen' becomes 'expenditures' in the cash flow? It seems so odd.

agree  Ted Wozniak: I generally prefer "capital expenditures" for Investitionen. Certainly agree with "cash/zahlungswirksam""

agree  Murad AWAD: I will also go for cash/capital expenditure.
